Hello all and Happy Monday! We’re back from our Thanksgiving hibernation and so full still that we are thrilled to get back to the lovely organic produce! 🙂

This week’s bins are full of treats to help you get back into eating the real goods. Let’s dive in…

Broccolette, also known as Broccolini or Baby Broccoli

What better way to get back on the routine than with a delicious bundle of baby broccoli? According to Grab Some Health News, “Eating baby broccoli may help in the prevention of stomach cancer. The health benefits of broccoli come from the ability of an ingredient in baby broccoli to reduce colonization of H. Pylori bacteria in the gut. H. Pylori is common, affecting fifty percent of the world’s population. The study suggests that eating baby broccoli on a regular basis confers the greatest health benefits.”

What’s your favorite broccoli recipe? Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper, and fresh lemon juice. shake n a bag with grated parmesan cheese until completely coated and grill until crispy for a delicious side dish.

Perfect Rio Star Grapefruit

One of the most beautiful and nutritious fruits, this week’s Rio Star Grapefruits will snap you back into shape with its cleansing properties. grapefruit is very high in Vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber pectin. Ate too much this weekend? Try eating a grapefruit to help get your body feeling good.

Gorgeous as always, local leeks

A fan and warehouse favorite, we are continuing to provide local leeks. If you’ve never had a leek before, don’t miss out this week! Leek’s have a great flavor and are very versatile. The best way to cook them: potato and leek soup! Yummy! Their flavor is similar to an onion, but more mild. Chop them, sear them, and them to your favorite dishes.

Local Green Cabbage

The often understated, but very delicious and versatile green cabbage is in perfect shape this week. Great in so many ways, try cabbage in soup, seared alone, chopped in fresh egg rolls, tossed in a salad, or thrown into a casserole! Have any other ideas? Tell us!
